K-9 Angels webmaster received a newsletter from ARC before Christmas. In that newsletter a dog named Timber, a Golden Retriever mix, was listed.  It was love at first sight. Timber had ear problems, so he would not be available immediately because he needed surgery.  Our webmaster has 5 dogs already and stated to ARC that she would not be upset if a better home was available for Timber, she just wanted to see Timber happy and loved for the rest of his life.  Our webmster began working on items as fundraisers for ARC.  A few weeks before Christmas Cyndi and Tina and I (webmaster-Bonnie) met in Pottsville, PA for breakfast.  Cyndi then informed me that Timber was to be mine.  I have spoken about adopting a senior dog since last Spring.  My husband is not keen on bringing in another dog and since he has had health problems. I did not push it.  Almost 10 months later, I saw Timber's picture and inquired about him.  I had spoken about Timber many times here at home and even mentioned that we would need to be approved.  Early in January, Cyndi was going to come and do the home visit, but my husband resisted, so the adoption did not happen.  I believe it happened the way it was supposed to. He went into a permanent foster home where there are 2 other dogs and the female mothers Timber. Although I am sad that he is not living here, I am very happy that it worked out so wonderfully for Timber. Cyndi and I have so much in common and I know she is very fussy where she places the dogs that are adopted from ARC.  ARC's cause has now become Tina and Bonnie's cause, as well.  Bonnie has donated handmade (by Bonnie) dog leads, t-shirts and sweatshirts with graphic transfer's ironed on, which she created for ARC.  Plus other items from her home as well as other purchased items.  There are many graphic transfers in the works and finished already and sent to ARC for their opinions.  A donation jar was created and is now collecting $ daily at Pet Valu in Gilberstville, PA, as well as a bin for food and other supplies that are donated. Tina and Bonnie will be visiting ARC as soon as the weather warms up here in PA.  Bonnie will be creating whatever is needed for ARC (graphics, etc.).  Tina will be donating her training services to ARC adopters in our area.
Recently, they agreed to take in quite a few puppies from a shelter in KY.  A few had parvovirus and a couple have already died.  They need help financially to get the survivors treated. Please consider a donation to the shelter.  Paypal is accepted.  Visit their website at www.nokillarc.org
Check out the animals at ARC, perhaps you have a spot in your home for one of them.  Thank you!
